ANTI-RAGGING

Ragging and eve-teasing in the college campus and hostel premises are banned as per the order of Govt. of Tamil Nadu. Indulging in ragging and eve-teasing will attract punishment as stipulated by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu and Anna University, Chennai.
 
Ragging is defined in the Act as under:
“Ragging” means causing, indicting, compelling or forcing a student, whether by way of practical joke or otherwise, to do any act which detracts form human dignity or violates his person or to forbear from doing any lawful act, by intimidation, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining or injuring him or by using criminal force to him or by holing out to him any threat of such intimidation, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement.
 
Penalty for Ragging:
Any person who contravenes shall on conviction be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees or with both.
