The Government College of Engineering, Bodinayakanur is one of the government engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, established in the year 2012 as per G.O(MS) No: 37, dated 22-03-2012 to serve students from the western region of the state. The college has permanent campus, spread across 10.06 acres, was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on 12-06-2015. Since its inception, the college has been dedicated to providing high-quality technical education, with an emphasis on engineering disciplines.
The institution follows the curriculum prescribed by Anna University, ensuring that students receive a modern and relevant education that aligns with industry standards. The college is situated in Bodinayakanur, a town in Theni district known for its scenic landscape and proximity to the Western Ghats, the college benefits from a serene environment conducive to learning.
Initially, the college offered five undergraduate courses:
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Computer Science and Engineering
Each of these courses, approved by AICTE, has an annual intake of 60 students. Over the years, the college has developed a well-equipped campus with modern laboratories, a central library and essential student services. It places importance on the holistic development of students through various extracurricular activities, including cultural and technical fests.
The institution emphasizes the development of its students for the job market, offering support through placement cells and industry collaborations.
